As much as a lot of my blogging takes an interest in Designer brands, I am a predominantly ‘high street blogger’ or that will be my aim. Being as clumsy as I am, I am still awaiting the return of my camera so I can really start documenting outfit choices etc.
Anyway, finding the perfect purse is always a struggle for me and since my ASOS one recently broke which I was devastated about I have been searching for months to find the perfect one and still am unsuccessful. I’m not usually one to splash out on designer clothes, but I think when it comes to bags and purses this is an exception. Having browsed the House of Fraser website, and to my surprise they don’t happen to sell Mulberry or Michael Kors, I fell in love with this over sized bright orange flap-over purse, with the Ted Baker signature fastening which is visible in the above pictures. On a student budget it is difficult to part with such a large sum of money over something so small, but I think when it comes to the end of my Work experience I may have to treat myself!
First House of Fraser related post! Since being at uni I’ve started wearing a lot more black after despising it for years, it had been made so simple to dress up with either a simple statement necklace or belt! Accessories however minor they may be can bring so much to an outfit. In particular looking at this season’s collection of BIBA belts consisting of chunky buckles, animal prints and neon which are key this summer to whittle down your waist.
Gone a bit tumblr crazy!
As a fashion management and marketing student, heading for my second year in September, I have managed to bag myself work experience for a month at the head offices in Bond Street for House of Fraser with the accessories, leathers and bags buyers (Jammy git yes I know!) In the process leading up to this I have been asked to start blogging.. Long story short I can’t seem to get the hang of blogspot.com so I am opting to continue to use my tumblr to voice my thoughts, opinions and interests on fashion, the style and process etc. Feel free to follow with feedback or anything, bare with me while I get the hang of this as writing isn’t essentially my strong point!
Just some of my fav pieces from Red Valentino’s Fall 2012 Ready-to-wear show at NY fashion week. So feminine, but still so gorgeous, I would kill to have every piece in my wardrobe!
I am a sucker for rings and as if Theo Fennell could not out-do themselves again. This has got to be one of the coolest rings I have ever seen. The ring is hand made in a yellow and pink gold, engraved and set with diamonds. The pyramid opens up to reveal a mummy in its coffin, to make it even more interesting, the mummy can be taken out!
I am constantly in search of the perfect clutch bag, but I am yet to find one. I am forever having to use across body or across the shoulder bags considering I am ridiculously forgetful in general, not to mention on a night out! So here are a few of my absolute favourites, if I was to purchase one maybe I would take more care of my belongings!
Firstly, Mui Mui’s oversized leather clutch. This is probably my number one, it’s so simple, and classic. If I could find one for a fraction of the price (sadly £1,050 isn’t in my budget) then I would have it in an instant!
Secondly, The Row’s metal framed lizard clutch, yet again, another classic piece which would be a worth while investment to anyone with a spare £3,195 knocking about! Clearly Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen don’t find this price as outrageous as i do as this is actually one of the less expensive bags in their collection!
And lastly, Oak’s fringed suede and textured leather clutch, a bit more affordable at £360 (sadly still not within my budget). This clutch oozes cool, and is much more likely a piece you’ll go off in a few years. But right now, today, I’m loving it!
Every summer I come across which I can’t get enough off! One of them having to be Rudimental - Feel the love, which I’m sure many of you will agree with! Waking up to this on the radio is sure to set the tone of my day.
